Hi.
I've always done my photography with 35mm Cameras (slr, point and shoot, rangefinders) though I am very VERY much an amateur. I'm interested in getting into photography projects and documentary making. I've decided I would be happier carrying out any projects I undertake with digital. Video will also be important as it's video production that is my overall career aim.
I'm going to be saving up over the next year + using some inheritance money so a budget of around three to four thousand.
I'm not interested in zoom lenses and would be involved in portraits with landscape too something versatile would be ideal
It seems that the 1D Mark IV, 7D, and 5D Mark II are the canons to go for from my reading but I'm fairly clueless.
Any help would be appreciated as I've no experience in digital photography
