Hi,

My wife has approved a £2k new build budget for next year.

I am currently specing up a pc like I always do but I wondered what you guys would do with the budget.

The last system I built was a i5 sandybridge machine and I am catching up on current tech.

I currently have: Silverstone FT02, but I will consider changing to a smaller compact case so would like a case in the budget.

Main uses: Gaming, Photo editing (wife fell in love with the 5k monitor on the new imac 27") and movie watching.

Need: PC, Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse,

OS optional.

Thanks

R

Not 5k but 4k isn't up to gaming yet. 1440p is still really nice.

A nice gold/black/white theme. :)

Thoughts?

Looks like a good nice build. It was the kinda thing I was looking at.

Just a couple of questions.

Have corsair PSUs fallen out of favor?
Not worth upgrading to 16gb of Ram for gaming?
Last I looked into it there wasn't much of an advantage of getting the i7 over the i5 and overclocking it for gaming?

Also it appears that you are in my neck of the woods. HA.

Yeah, Corsair PSU's have kind of let slip a little, Superflower have led the way for the last few months. They are Stunning units, they also OEM for the EVGA G2 range.

I included 2 sets for you, you don't need it but games(at 4K) are starting to push towards the 8GB mark, best be prepared. :)

Still the case really, but the i7 does offer a bit more when in SLI. Also that bundle (being a BK edition board) comes with a 3year upgrade warranty.

Am i so? Good morning then sir. :)

Ah, I didnt notice the 2 sets of ram. Good Shout.

Corsair have always been amazing CS for me, thats a surprise.

I moved to wellington from the UK just over a month ago.

Hi,

The budget for this has reduced to 1850, What would you change with the specs to bring the price down.

I no longer need a mouse, as this has been purchased.

I would prefer a 1440p monitor, if possible IPS. Also I have been sold on the CORSAIR RGB k70.

What are your thoughts.

Thanks guys.

Right, I have finally got the budget together for this build. NEW Budget 1.5k.

I no longer need a monitor as part of that budget. See what things have changed in the last couple of months.

Wow me!

Don't have the basket on my iPad

Feels like its missing something?
