Hey, I'm off to uni in a couple of weeks, but after days of research, I remain pretty much no closer to choosing a laptop.
There's 3 main things I can't decide on:
1. SSD - is it worth the premium now, or would it be worth waiting and upgrading it myself (how difficult would this be?)
2. RGBLED? - is it only dell that does these and again, is it worth the premium?
3. Blu-ray - are these going to drop in price or is it worth taking the plunge sooner rather than later.
I don't really have a price in mind, but definitely under £1000, could probably stretch slightly if it has the 3 above.
My main uses will be gaming and just web browsing, but I don't want a huge ugly beast. Screen wise I'm looking at 16-18".
Couple of possibilities:
SONY VAIO NW11Z/T C2D T6500 2.1GHz 4GB 500GB 15.5TFT DVDRW/BDROM BT CAM VHP VGNNW11Z/T.CEK - £778
Acer Aspire 7735G-654G32Mn Laptop - £569
Dell Studio/XPS (prices fluctuate hugely depending on the 3 points above)
Cheers,
Rich
