Hey guys, Looking to finally watercool my pc (cpu + gfx). As it will be my first time, Im after some advice.

Current setup :

I7 920 @ 4ghz
6GB Ram
Gigabyte 780 GTX x 1

Now i do have a corsair 800d which i know will help with space :D , i have no idea what im looking for at all so any help would be great, looking to get everything as cool as possible and quite quiet , sounds like an aircraft at the moment with 8 apache fans :D.

budget around £400 , im sure it can be done for that :)

Edit : would like to also note, i may add another GTX in future, so would like to have the option if needed

thanks again

Something along the lines of;
CPU; EK Supremecy, it'll fit 1366 and if you upgrade to 1150 or 2011 in the future will support those. ~£60

GPU; EK Fullcover ~£80
Prices depend on the version you prefer. You could opt for non-EK too.

Radiator; Black Ice SR-1 480, potentially overkill for what you want to cool, but will allow for another 780 in the future and works wonderfully with ~1000RPM fans so it'll be quieter ~£100
You could opt for the 360mm version for slightly less, it would probably handle 2 780s and a cpu too.

Pump/Res; You could grab either D5 vario or a DDc 18W, either will be more than enough to cope with the system and both can either be used with res that attach directly to the pump, OCUK do combos which make that nice and easy, or you could grab separate res, it depends on how you want to go about mounting it. ~£100

Which leaves around £60 for fittings tubing and coolant. If you want compression or barbs is really a personal choice, and again the brand is upto you, some cost more for their name and quality, aka bitspower, while others do just a good job like EK or XSPC.
Barbs will be cheaper if you opt for them, there is literally nothing other than how they look that really affects what you want here.

Tubing; I personally use 16/11mm tubing it's pretty much perfect for watercooling imo, throw it over 1/2" barbs with the help of some warm water and you've got a nice clean seal if you want to go with compressions then make sure you get one that matches tubing. You'll probably want 2-3meters or so minimum it allows for any mistakes that way and you'll have some to use in the future if you add another piece to the loop. If you want barbs but larger tubing 16/13 or 19/13 on 1/2" then you might want to grab some tube clamps or zipties just to make sure you're not going to be surprised by leaks.

Coolant, the choice is yours, I use distilled water with biocide, but if you want coloured coolant in clear tubes then nothing is to stop you. It's all pretty good at what it does. 1ltr minimum. 2 for topups/spillages/mistakes

thanks for the info, the 480 rad means i may have to cut the case to fit, may go for 360 and possibly add another rad in the bottom, that way i only remove the HDD bottom bay., many thanks for the advice
