Hi Guys

Could you spec a machine for my step dad.

He does not need a monitor, keyboard or mouse. All he needs is a system with an operating system.

He needs:

  • 160Gb Hard Drive
  • At least 1.6Ghz Processor
  • At least 1Gb RAM
  • Sound Card
  • Operating System - XP Please!

Graphics card not necessary.

Around £250 - £350 Would be good any cheaper also good.

Thanks in advance ;)

When you say you need a sound card do you mean that you want high-performance discrete audio processing, or does that just mean that you want it to be able to play sounds, as on-board sound would allow?

also no optical drive

As long as the on-board sound has a mic input that will be fine, if there is no MIC input on the on-board sound a sound card will be required. Should have mentioned that...
