Hey all,

I've been out of the hardware scene for a bit and could do with some advice for building a new PC.

Looking to spend £800-£1000 (Less always better to keep the missus happy)

I already have a 19" Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse.

Usage will be primarily Gaming, with some work and movies etc.

Is i7 the way to go, or best go Dual/Quad.
Any help would be very welcome.

Thanks in advance.

I have a 26" wide Phillips TV that I will prob end up using as a screen.
Would it be worth looking at the 4890 GPU?
Looking at possibly the Antec P182 case.

I'd like this build to have a good few years in it, so if it's worth spending a little bit more for it to last it'll be worth it.

what resolution is the TV?

if you want it to last a few years, i would be tempted by the i7 and getting the 4850 now, then getting a dx11 card later to replace it with

Ok, so this is what I've come up with based on the helpful hints I've recieved.

how much will it cost to get you back on good side?

a 24" screen does make a huge difference to your gaming experience so personally i would say it is

Great I'll take a look at some of those as well. Cheers

On my spec I put the Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 750W ATX2.2 Modular SLi
Can I save some money with a different make/model. or lower power. Ideal I would prefer modular. But not sure just how big I need the PSU to be.
