Are you after ultimate speed or refined performance?

If you want ultimate speed I would look at Japanese cars e.g. the rx7 as suggested, impreza, evo, s2000.

If you want refined performance I would be looking at a bmw 330 sport (should be able to get a good one for this money).

If you want to pose then I suppose something like a audi TT 225 quatro would fit the bill.

As for suggestions of westfields this is probably too hardcore for the op. To be honest the type of person who would get a car like that would not need to ask.

To be honest I don't think properly decent examples of either are readily available for £10k. To get a £10k one you need to have a lot of time and patience on your hands.
