My old PC is starting to fall apart at the seams. Last week the my trusty 9600 pro went and this week the hdd decide to pack it in. Fortunately I hadn't bought the new gfx so I've decided its time for a new build. I've put a spec together and now just need to make sure I haven't forgotten anything/could do better:

If your into overclocking then save yourself some cash and get the crucial ballistix pc5300 c3 as it will save you money and overclocks to the same speeds. ;)

Other than that it looks good

I've just been reading up on the RAM and some of the results are impressive. I'm tempted to get 4GB :D

For overclocking a 6420 I'd probably suggest a 965P based motherboard, they generally reach higher FSB speeds than the 975X chipset that Asus uses.

I'd probably change the CPU cooler for a Noctua NH-U12F instead of the Arctic Freezer 7.

Finally, can Vista 32bit accept 4gb Ram? I thought that was a limitation inherant to 32bit OSes. :)

Thanks for the tips on the motherboard, time to do some more research. I'll switch the cooler as suggested.

Having spent the last few hours reading up I've decided the on a new motherboard:

Asus P5B Deluxe (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
£103.99 (£122.19)

Its a little cheaper but still has everything I'd want.
