So looking for a little runaround for better half. budget is around £2000 no more. Will primarily used for running around town with little one on-tow. Will do the odd motorway journey too.
So main criterion is isofix. Safety is a priority. Reliability and cheap parts!

Cars that seem to tick these boxes are a Suzuki swift. Any others you could throw into the mix? Also engine recomendations.

Many thanks.

Isofix is optional on most cars - so you're limited to something originally purchased by a family, with kids...

For £2k, I'd probably be looking at a Focus.

MK1.5 Focus with £500 change. Loads of them about and there's not many things on the road cheaper to run and maintain. Not sure about ISOFIX though.

My mum has that shape C-max. It's... not very nice. 1.6 petrol, quite slow, apparently the steering feel is quite good, but it hasn't been very reliable... wiring loom replaced etc

Not very comfortable, but we have the boggo standard cloth seats

Plenty of space though, and has A/C etc, and radio is pretty good

Thanks guys. The focus I have heard are bullet proof pretty much. The boot is tiny on them though and isofix is very rare on them, struggling to fit a pram in the boot. Cmax is an option. Anything after 55 plate I think isofix starts getting standard figment.

I looked at a 2007 Mondeo ST TDCI the other day and it didn't have isofix. I was surprised, and that was a dealbreaker for me.
