Its mainly for gaming @ 1280*1024, hence the GTS320MB. On Vista. I will be overclocking (prob get the Noctua hs?)

This will be my first Intel build, can you let me know if there is anything you would change please???

tbh i would either get quad core (which is cheaper than that atm) or else a cheaper cpu and different memory then

The memory, the crucial ballistix pc5300 with tighter timings are really good clockers and your going to need a very good aftermarket cooler if you want to clock that e6850 to 3.5+ on air. I would stills say save some money get the e6750 and clock that but its up to you if you want to start with a higher stock clocked cpu...

Hi and welcome.

Okay, assuming you have everything else (monitor, case, hdd etc etc) that looks good to my eyes. But you really want to wait for an expert opinion rather than mine :)

The only thing I'd say is that there's a lot of debate here as to whether or not quad is the way to go (in particular the Q6600). Have a read of some of the threads to make your own mind up. Even if you want to go dual, I myself would drop to the E6750, simply because it's better vfm over the E6850 in my opinion.

Thanks guys.

So I'm looking good except cpu/ram combo.

Your saying i could save £'s & get the 6750 and oc'it, or go for the 4 cores q6600 instead of 2 for similar money?

Well, an E6850 is very close in price to the Q6600 I think. But if I was going dual core, the E6750 is a steal, given that it should clock very nicely. If I was spending the few quid extra, I'd probably put it into a quad rather than a slightly quicker C2D, but that's just what I'd do :)
