Another Thunbderbird Prob

Hi all,

Whenever I write/reply to an email, all the words are underlined in Red as if they were spelt wrong (which they are not),

Whats going on?

Spellchecker? Either turn it off in Options>Composition>Spelling or install the right dictionary. Thunderbird probably defaults to US English so you'd need to install another one.

//Edit// You can't install Thunderbird stuff through Firefox so download the dictionary file and install it as an addon for Thunderbird.

Thanks for reply, how do i download the dictionary though. Whenever i click the UK dictionary an install box pops up.

Right-click and Save As.

No probs. Glad to have been able to help another Mozilla-ist. Its threads like these that remind me I should backup all my FF and TB extensions so I don't spend hours on a new install wondering what, "That new cool extension was". :rolleyes:

Also, whenever i click a url in thunderbird nothing happens? Is there a fix?

A URL in an email? Have you made sure you are definitely clicking it? No problems whatsoever for me with Thunderbird and URLs.

Hi again,

Yep, definately a URL. Everyting was working fine with mozilla up untill this past week now im getting a few probs

Nothing loads (ie, or firefox which is my default) when a url is clicked

IE or Firefox?! :confused:

What about Opera? Honestly got no idea what is wrong there.

Firefox is my default. No probs m8 - but if you think of any solutions let me know

Alos, if I reinstall Thunderbird will my emails remain or do I need to backup first?

Dunno but would be sensible to do a backup first. MozBackup should make the job a little easier.

Failing that there's loads of guides on which folders to save and how to re-import your emails/contacts/settings later

What version of TB are you using? I know the older versions (I think pre-1.5... but can't remember for sure) required that you had your default browser open before clicking on hyperlinks or nothing would happen.
