Another tragic death - thanks MS!

Can we just have one big R.I.P topic for these 360's instead of loads of mini rants? Sticky it the xbox 360 memorial thread. ;)

One day I expect mine will die, I will just send it to ms and they will repair it and add the new heat sinks so it shouldnt happen again...

bunch of cry babies, "yeh but i wont have my console for 2 weeks if it breaks"

go outside and enjoy the great british summer hah

gimme a console with some stuff to play on it than a doorstopper anyday, even with the risk of it breaking down.

add to that the amount of shafting sony have done to europeans with the ps3 and ppl are still buying it ....it's quite amazing how ppl are willing to get bummed and pay for the priviledge.

Thing is, There are a lot of games to play on the PS3. Obviously not as many as there are for the 360. But its not like games arent there. Exclusives on the other hand may be lacking. But thats not the point.

These are copy and pasted from a well known shopping site.

Trouble is 99% of those games are out on the 360 too, so why go buy a ps3 when he can send it back and still play his game, idiot imo.

yes but a lot of those are on the 360, if he has a 360 already he'll have likely got it for that, in which case he'll have to buy them all over again if he wants them on ps3!! a bit of a waste of money!

But he will he will only need to buy the ones he wants again.
Sometimes that's the price of doing business.

Well yet another piece of microshaft's awesome 360 hardware bites the dust.
Brother-in-law's 360 rrod'd, and yeah before I hear ' but 3 year extended warranty, ms are sweet etc ', screw that they just lost another customer, he's off to get a ps3.

Sorry to hear it. His loss though.

When is this going to get sorted out? How long does it take to release a new revision of the console with better cooling.

My friends 2nd 360 has gone within a year. The 2nd one was in a smoke and dust free environment and he rang me up the other day to tell me it had bit the dust after 6 months.

Its putting me off buying one at the moment as the resale value won't be too great if I decide to sell it in 6 months.

Well got a refund, so he is going to get the offer thats doing the rounds at the moment, 399 two games and two controllers. And to those saying just get a replacement and then what hope it doesn't rrod again, still a lot of the faulty 360's left to be sold. And like myself as soon as MS sort it out then a 360 will be purchased again, its their own fault for selling faulty products and lying to consumers, stuff waiting weeks for repair they should sell consoles that work. And anyone who thinks that is an ok way of doing things is the idiot

Buying a PS3 now is money wasted unless you're a blu-ray whore, but you'll know that as you're not an idiot.

Hope you enjoy it.

i dont think anybody thinks that. getting rid of it and buying a ps3 doesnt really make sense though. i love my ps3 but i dont use it primarily as a games machine. peopel who do, right now, are ultimately disappointed.

They haven't shafted anyone. You paid for a product and you received it. They're willing to replace it *FOR FREE* and you won't accept that?

yeh but like the others have stated, any of the stuff worth playing on that list are available on the 360 anyway plus more exclusive titles.

ps3 has no exclusive killer game right now.

i'm not saying i will never buy one - what i won't do is pay the premium that exists right now for it when a) i have a 360 anyway and b) the range currently available.

I think they have kinda shafted ppl, selling a £300 console that is more than likely to becoming faulty within 12 months isn't very good for the consumer regardless of there very late offering to fix them.

Hence the warranty though. MS have admitted their mistake and will sort out their manufacturing issues, how long that takes is anyone's guess though.

My four mates have gone through 2-3 360's each and yet they've never even glanced at the PS3, yet two of them are PS2 diehards who still play GoW a lot. Upon experiencing Live and seeing the titles that lay ahead for the 360 the two just couldn't look elsewhere. The other two were knocked sideways by the media center extender, which like me they now use to stream every format under the sun to their tv's.

ps3 is the future ;) :p

he **** still get the xbox fixed though , in 35days he can decide wheter to keep ps3 or keep his fixed xbox , technically he can afford to keep both since he was gunna throw it away anyway
