i know that the tuniq tower has been discussed to death, but can anybody tell me whether it is compatible with the Asus P5B Deluxe/WiFi mobo? or at least point me to a forum or link.

I've seen people on forums with that combination, I have it on a P5W64 Pro.
fyi : Don't use the thermal compound that comes with it... :D

thanks, thinking of getting some of the arctic cooling compound instead. some people have said not to stick the base plate onto the underside of the mobo cos you won't be able to get it off again. do you know anything about this?

You need to stick the base plate down as far as i know otherwise you wont be able to screw it down

sorry i worded it badly. i menat that you do put the base plate on the bottom of the mobo, but you don't use the sticker (on the base plate) to permanently stick it to the mobo (as screwing it together should be enough).

Just to confirm, Yes, the tuniq tower is 100% compatible with the Asus P5B Deluxe/WiFi. I'm using that combo at the moment, and my E6600 idle stock temps recorded using CoreTemp are 17c/19c, although admittidly my room is canny cold.

On another note, I was previously using an Artic Freezer with my chip [email protected], 1.35v, 24/7 use, and 12hr Orthos stable (I've had the chip at 4Ghz but temps were a lil to high). I'm waiting for the Arctic Silver to break in first before I start clocking the chip back up. All going well in a day or so I'll be gunning for a 4Ghz 12hr Orthos air run. *fingers crossed*

Yes i suppose you could do it like that, would be fiddly though and may have future complications, it isnt very stick btw, wouldn't be hard to get off

Actually its a pain to get off, once its stuck down, ITS STUCK DOWN.

I thought I was going to break the mobo whilst trying to remove the damned back plate. I had to get a knife and cut into the sticky foam thingy, I did get the pack plate off, but that foam stuff is still there.

Best advise is dont stick it on. Hold the back plate down with some masking tape or somin & remove it once the cooler is installed.

if you ever plan on getting it off then for the love of god do not stick it down!

i did, and then had to RMA the motherboard 2 days later... that was fun removing it and cleaning all of the crap off of the motherboard!!!!
