Evening all

Looking at where to go but i think CPU is holding me back. I bought a second hand gaming pc in Jan for a good price and have started upgrading over the last few weeks. Current spec is below. Overclocked my current CPU isn't recommended due to a very low end motherboard but I've oc'd to a reserved 4ghz but doubt it's made any change. Computer is only used for gaming and your normal YouTube and web browsing. Games i play are overwatch, csgo, planning on Witcher 3 etc but haven't got them yet.

Originally I was holding off for ryzen but results are making me think twice. Budget, obviously I'd like to keep it as low as possible, say £500ish. I only play in 1080p but have freesync 144hz monitor I'd like to make use of.

Cpu- fx6350
Mobo- Asus m5a78l
GPU-strix rx480
60gd ssd
2tb HD
Kraken x52 cooler
Corsair rm650i
8gb ddr3
Corsair 400c case few thermaltake fans

Thanks

Up to you. I had the 6350 and clocked it to 4.5 to make sure i was able to play games decently enough.

Id opt for a new motherboard, memory and cpu if possible. ryzen 1700 or intel i5 7600k with 8gb ddr4 and a decent board.

But if you want second hand, go for a motherboard and cpu (intel i5 4000 series (haswell/devil canyon), keep your ram and you are set for a while.
