Another upgrade-son’s gaming PC

Hi, I’m looking to upgrade my son’s gaming PC. I’ve worked in IT for about 30 odd years. Go gentle on me.

PSU ATX-500B
MBD A320/DVS rev 4
RAM 24GB 2400
CPU AMD A6-9500
Graphics card Dual GTX1650 4G
1TB SSD
Windows 10

He is not looking to spend a fortune but would like some improvement. He thinks the PSU is not powerfull enough but I think CPU is the weak link.

Any thoughts?

CPU definitely a weak link. Might need to confirm the BIOS version but a R3600 will be a massive improvement.

Grab a cheap ryzen 3600 and some faster ram then look for a new GPU when sanity returns to the market.

I'd be loathe to replace 24GB of DDR4, I'd try overclocking it first.
