I'm going to be looking at a new upgrade on this soon, and I would like you guys to suggest where I can improve and with what I should buy to improve it?

Processor:- Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 (2.50ghz)
RAM:- 6GB DDR3 RAM
Motherboard:- ASUS P5G41T-MLE (775 Socket)
Graphics Card:- AMD Radeon 6950 (New)
Hard Drive:- Seagate Barracudda 1tb (ST31000528AS)
PSU:- NVTK 500W PSU
OS:- Windows 7 Ultimate Edition (64bit)

Looking to spend in the region of £150-200.

If you sold the Q8300 (fetch around £80) and the Mobo (dunno, perhaps £30?) you could get SandyBridge.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail with FREE Shogun 2 Game £179.99
1 x MSI P67A-C45 Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION ** £104.99
Total : £296.38 (includes shipping : £9.50).

Moving to AMD makes no sense as for gaming it would be a bit of a sidestep. If you're willing to wait until July AMD will be releasing Bulldozer - their competition with SB.

If you're getting decent performance in games atm, then I would leave it, keep saving and get a new PSU - never heard of that make and can't find anything about them

The following are all very good PSUs:

If hoping to CF in the future, 750W:

Antec TruePower
XFX Pro (non-modular).
XFX Black Edition (Modular version, with slightly high amps on the 12v rail than both the above).

If not fussed over CF, 650W:

XFX XXX Edition
Corsair TX 650W
