So, My current spec is in my sig..

I mainly use this rig for gaming with the latest titles (Stalker CS, Crysis etc.) and it doeas a very good job at my 22" monitors native 1680x1050 res.

Basically, I understand everything sems to struggle running Crysis on max settings but when I purchased Stalker CS I guess i was naive when i thought i would be able to max it with some AA (much needed on this game me
thinks!)

So a few questions...

1. If I upgrade the gpu (maybe a 4870) would my cpu bottleneck the system ?

2. Is it about time i upgraded the ageing E6300 ?

3. I plan to have the CPU and GPU upgraded by christmas, which way round would you do it (eg. gpu now, cpu later or vise versa)

And finally..

4. Where can I find out what products are round the corner from AMD (and ATI), Nvidia, Intel ?

I like to know whats coming before I decide wether i purchase or wait !

Sorry if this post is a bit long winded but havnt really been keeping up with everything since I built the pc around a yr ago.

thanks :p

I cant really help your choose but about the future cards from Ati and NVi i guess i can.

Ati- "lil Dragon" or R870 should be this quarter.
NVi-a bunch of refreshes, im pretty sure.

If im wrong then someone please correct me :P

Sure there are some refreshes coming for both ATI / Nvidia but untill Q1 2009 at least i wouldnt expect anything much faster, than whats allready out.

The E6300 at 2.8 is still fine and matching it with the 4870 would get the biggest increase in FPS for you, so thats what i would do first.
