another watercooling thread, *sighs*

I know the theories behind watercooling, but have never done it myself, there are still a couple of questions that hang over my mind
1. what can actually be watercooled? cpu, gpu, nd, sb, mobo mosfets, ram, hd, is there anything else?
2. if you wcool nb, can that help a cpu overclock? also if you overclock ram, will it let you keep tighter timings with less volts under water?
3. what is the point of watercooling mosfets on the mobo?

1) If it generates heat, chances are it can be watercooled. You may just have to make the blocks yourself.
2) Watercooling the northbridge won't help an Intel chip's maximum overclock, but will help the FSB increase more than without it (which is essentially a 'better' overclock).

Of course, watercooling an Athlon 64's northbridge will help the maximum overclock because it sits on the CPU die...

2. Yes can help with overclocking cause as your raise fsb you need to up voltage on the nb which then can get very hot. As for the ram, IMO its not worth watercooling unless you really must get the last few Mhz from it and maybe plan to overvolt it. A lot of cpu overclocks reach the maximum of the cpu or the mobo way before the max of the ram.
3. Cause as you overclock they get very, very hot. Heat is your enemy and potentially makes an overclock unstable. You don't have to watercool but you will perhaps need a fan on the cooler dependant on your overclock/mobo. When I was getting my q6600 stable at 3.8Ghz I found my mosfets hitting 106C before the system shut down as protection. Reseating the heatsink with new thermal past and bolts instead of push pins plus a small fan dropped temps to 63C max.
 
i still wouldn't worry about it.

If you are stressing it too hard it will keep crashing in which case you will need to back off or cool it more, thus reducing the strain and the chance of damage.
 
OK, I am hoping to start a Water Cooling build on my PC.
The CPU is an intael Q6600. so I was hoping to do the following componants.

Thats not a great pump if im honest, and they both will need - G1/4" Thread
1/2" barbs, then use either 1/2" id or 7/16" id tubing.
