Another 'What Gfx card' thread

Building a mATX gaming system. Will be playing games like Oblivion, Enemy Territory: QW, COD4, Dawn of war.

Spec of the system will be:
Intel q6700 CPU
Asus P5E-VM Intel G35 mATX board
Geil 4gb (2x2gb) 800mhz pc2-6400 Black Dragon RAM
OCZ StealthXstream 600w PSU
Scythe Mini Ninja CPU cooler
Samsung SpinPoint F1 320gb HDD

I will game on a 15'' Samsung LCD TV (I know

) So I guess the resolution will be pretty small, 1028x768? Will be updating to a bigger monitor around Christmas time (19'')

Just unsure on what GFX card to get. Would like it to be cheap and ofcourse max out my games.

Any Suggestions?

8800gt or 4850 if your feeling rich.

4850 will give you a lot more longevity if you feel like spending the extra 40 quid or so. It will drive a 19" nicely even with most games from 2009 maybe onward.

Not really, Im making a whole new build so gfx card is essential. I already have a monitor which I can update at a later date.

Tempted by the price of the card, just the memory of it is letting it down. Would 256mb still be too little for my res?

Ideally get a 512MB card, especially if thinking you may get a bigger monitor later on.

edit: If its for a gaming sytem the 4850.

at the very least get the 8800gt 512 but as many people are saying get the the 4850.

Gonna get the Powercolor PCS Extreme 4850. The cheapest atm and comes slightly overclocked and with an aftermarket cooler.
