Hi,
Currently got 2Gb on a Vista-32 machine, looking at boosting it to 4 (I know 32 can't see all of it, but it's still a boost).
MoBo is an Asus P5N32-E Sli, CPU is Intel Quad Q6600
From Asus's site, they list the MB as:
-Dual-channel DDR2 800/667/533
- 1333**/1066/800/533MHz
(** available when CPUs are ready for 1333MHz FSB
The CPU has a 1066 MHz FSB IIRC.
Currently have 2 sticks of Corsair 1Gb XMS2 800
My questions are:
-Can I run 1066 MHz RAM? Or does the 1066 in the MB specs refer to FSB, not RAM capability?
-Regardless of FSB, should I get 2 more 1 Gb sticks for 4*1 Gb, or replace the current with 2*2 Gb?
-If I have to use 800 MHz RAM (and get told to add 2 sticks rather than replace), the same make as I currently have comes in 2 versions (C4 & C5) with different latencies, do I need to match CAS to the current RAM?
