After 2 years of my son being envious of my Dell 2407 WFP he's agreed to go halves on his own 24" for Christmas.
He will be using it for his 360 and his PC.
The more I research, the more undecided I get
I quite like the look of the Samsung T240 for £300 plus it has a HDMI port.
But the Samsung SM2443BW will be £70 cheaper. It lacks the HDMI port, but does that really matter (his 360 looks fine on his chepo 19" which doesn't have one)
His PC is quite old now.
AMD64 Athlon 3400
2GB RAM
AGP 7600 GS 256MB
He mainly plays WOW and counterstrike. As these are quite old games now, I suspect he may get away with upgrading his graphics card to something like
ATi Radeon HD3650 512MB GDDR3 which the cheaper monitor will allow him to do (needs to be able to run at 1920x1200).
Do you think this would cope?
Of course the best route I could go would be to get him a new MB, CPU and give him my 8800GTX and use that as an excuse to buy myself a new ATI 4870 x2, but then my wife would kill me
