ANOTHER 'which S939 cpu?' thread

Howdy all. In a bit of dilemma. I think my a64 x3800 is starting to feel a little old in the tooth and noticed that there are some bargains once in a while to be had a on certain auction site so probably going to stick with my setup and get a new cpu.

What i'm really unsure of is whether to go for a dual core 939 or a FX cpu. Not really into overclocking so will run at stock.

I have asus a8n-m mobo
3 gig ram,pc 3200
256 x1950 pro
a64 x3800 CPU
Vista home premium.

Ok so i'm looking more at the Opterons now, only problem is i don't have a clue if my system would be any use for overclocking. The ram i have is generic and i don't know if my motherboard is any good in particular for OC'ing? Anyone shine any light on this for me please before i decide to purchase one or not.

I've got 3 x1 gig sticks if that makes any difference. 2 gig just was too slow in Vista for my liking.

How well does an Optern 146 clock? I've been offered one at a good price, would i see an improvement over my 3800?

Ah i don't have water cooling, but thanks anyway. Think i'll hold out for a 175
