Hello, as youve probably read or experienced your self there are annoying blackscreens that pop up in windows 10, theyre triggered by loads of things, unstable overclocks, driver crashes, program crashes and even just windows updates on boot. Theres loads of guides out there with solutions like disabling onboard graphics, disabling automatic updates and even replacing some system files and lots of other things. They all tend to address the black screen on boot but not many help with blackscreen caused by driver crashes due to failed overclocks or ULPS kicking in, which is normally the ones im experiencing when im messing about with my graphics cards.
Anyway i found when i get a driver crash and the blackscreen appears the simplest way to get my picture back is to hit windowskey+p then up arrow and enter, this switches to my secondry monitor, then just hit down arrow and enter and it restores the picture to my screen. If im in fullscreen mode when the screen goes black i just hit alt tab first then switch screens, then hit alt tab again to restore the screen. Also it helps if you have a AB profile keybound to lower your clocks to a stable setting if your messing with your clockspeeds like i normally am when i crash the driver.
Its worked everytime except when the driver crash has caused a full system lockup, then the only way around is a restart, but that was expected. I was right on the edge of reinstalling windows 7 yesterday and if i hadnt worked this out i would be back on win7 now.
Hope this helps anyone else experiencing blackscreens.
