Another windoz 7 question ?!?!

really quick one, but i'm running xp and windozs 7 (dual boot) and my 8800 gtx runs about 5-10 degrees hotter in windozs 7 than XP.
this is just a idle... is that cause of the huge amount of power it takes to run all the little flashly bells and funky see through things ?!?

(as linux can do all that plus more on a 3 year old pc...)
 
As said, it's more than likely the Aero theme (transprency etc) thats making your card warmer.

As mentioned, it's spelt 'Windows' ;).
 
Windows 7 demands more system resources than XP, like XP demanded more than Windows 98. In answer to your question yes that's probably normal.
 
What are you using to measure temps? I have seen a 15c difference in GPU temp when running two monitor programs, at the same time lol
 
i'm using Everest Ultimate Edition, on both xp and 7.....
I thought it might be, but on the off chance that it may have been a problem with the fan/temp thiny jiggy....
