Ive recentley set up a new wireless network with Virgin Media's provided router and am having a repetitive issue that I cant seem to solve. At various times through out the day the Network keeps dropping the connection every few minutes. The Router is no more than 20ft away from the computer and I cant find anything in the house that could be interfering with the signal, I.E Cordless phones etc.

Any idea's as to why this happens?

Some times the problem can be that your to close I know it sounds silly but its true.

If your only 20ft away why not just use network cable?

The main reason being the missus wont let me have cables running about, as even when done properly apparantly they look untidy, besides the router was free from virgin. Will try changing the frequency and see if that helps! Thanks guys

Couldnt tell you to be honest, havent got a cable that long, though I can pick one up in a day or two...

So how did it work without the router?

The point I'm getting is you haven't at any point shown that it's the wireless rather than some or all of the router, modem, NTL's network, your machine...

It was the router I believe, I borrowed a friends spare earlier and there doesnt seem to be an issue atm
