Hello everybody,

I am intrested about a specific monitor this one: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/iiyama-g-master-gb2488hsu-b2-24-1920x1080-tn-144hz-freesync-1ms-widescreen-led-super-slim-bezel-mon-mo-134-iy.html and my question is i want to run it at 144Hz what do i need? a display port cable such as this one: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ocuk-value-2m-male-male-display-port-monitor-cable-cb-071-ok.html, is this correct or a dual link DVI cable? since the description of the monitor isn't very clear....because it states "For 144 fps game-play it is required to have a graphic card that supports dual link 144Hz DVI." < what?

And i also got a GTX 970 would that be enough to run 2 monitors @ 144Hz?
And my last question is does this monitor have "anti-flickering" ?

This monitor is free sync aswell. Which is a chip inside the monitor itself to match the frames the GPU produces when they drop below 144hz to keep it smooth.

To take advantage you need a g-sync monitor. As free sync is strictly for AMD gpus only. And G-sync for NVIDIA.

Depends what games you want to play. A single 970 will struggle at 144hz with high end games on high settings.

It won't run 2 monitors well. Not at 144hz anyway. Unless you plan to not use them for games.

I've taken a look at the Iiyama website for this monitor here:

http://www.iiyama.com/gl_en/products/g-master-gb2488hsu-b2/

It states that it comes with both a dual link DVD-D cable and a display port cable. Therefore you aren't going to have to buy any additional cables to run it as your GTX 970 should have at least one of those outputs and both will allow 1080p up to 144Hz.

Like Tyler has stated this monitor is a FreeSync one which is a tech used in AMD cards at the moment so you can use this on an nVidia card and have a 144Hz monitor, you just can't take advantage of the adaptive refresh rate technology. This is a technology designed to eliminate tearing in games by matching the refresh rate of the monitor to the output of the card.

A GTX 970 will not be enough to drive 2 of these at 144Hz per screen. In fact in some games dependant on settings you will find it hard to achieve 144hz on a single screen.

Not sure about the monitor being 'flicker free'maybe someone with more knowledge on TFTs can answer that for you.

hm okaih, but i will be only playing 1 game on 1 monitor to be honest lol and so what you are stating i should purchase nvidia g-sync monitor + a gtx 980 ti 6gb? would that work together? ;o or just buy another 970 and sli them both for each monitor ;o

It depends on what sort of settings you want to run your games at tbh

I actually have the standard version of that monitor and run it off a single 970,still able to run most new games at 100fps+ with a mix medium/high settings.

Even a 980ti wont be able to run most new games at anywhere close to 144fps on 'max' settings
