Antec 1200 Case Fans & Akasa PWM Fan Splitter Cable?

Is it safe to connect all the antec 1200 case fans up to my Akasa PWM Fan Splitter Cable? Just worried about the load this would put on my, Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5, having so many fans connected to the CPU fan socket on the mobo??

I would say tbh. I would only plug a single fan into each socket. Are there no other headers on the mobo?

yeah there are but not PWN sockets, was looking at setting it up so when the cpu temp got hot the case fans would speed up, as this can only be achieve with a PWN socket

If you can find out what the maximum current draw is from the socket, then load it up to that. Otherwise split the PWM cable to the other fans, but get the +12v and GND from a Molex.

The AKASA cable has a molex to feed the others.

Did you do this yet mate? It's a really good idea. I'm keen to hear how it worked out. My own interest is because I was considering an antec 1200 with a pair of fans connected to a H50 coolers radiator in push pull config. I wanted those fans to be synched up speed wise and controlled by the cpu. However your idea is even better - controlling ALL the fans via the cpu!
