A small update. Halfords filler primer for plastic, takes a chuffing age to dry, but thankfully after sneaking it inside and placing the top over a radiator, all is well. I have completely sanded the top panel now with 240 and 320. Tiny imperfections in the surface, which if not sorted WILL wind me up have been filled. That will be set up now in about 15 minutes, then sand again!!!!! Thank God it will be red by 1500.
Anyway the images are not exciting but it is progress.
The top panel is now finished, in the sense that it has had two coats of red after more sanding and filling. I am very happy the way the transformation has turned out.
It will have to set up now for a few hours before I can start with the lining tape.
Top panel is now in black acrylic. Two coats. I will let it set up overnight and remove the lining tape tomorrow and laquer it, then put it aside for a few days. I will start the left side panel after the top and front are back on.
Not much of an image. Shooting matt black is not easy.
Looks awesome mate - love it!! If I had half the skill or patience I might attempt something similar - not sure it would even be possible on the HAF though, not enough flat surfaces really lol
Top panel is now in laquer. Three coats applied so far. A quick 400 grit sanding to follow tomorrow then another coat to finish. I need to thnk how I am going to make the stencil marking for the word Antec on the front panel.
The project is not dead. Have not been able to spend any time on it at the moment as I am prepping one of my cars for sale. It needs some bodywork, so that's where I am now. In my freezing workshop. AnyWho, here is a shot of the well and truly dry top and front panels. They've been inside in the warm now since final top coat was applied. It may well be a week before I can carry on. But it is coming, for those interested.
We're all interested mate - we love these build logs, just can't get enough of 'em
It idles at around 30/32c and under gaming it'll top out around 48/50 (when the cooler is dust-free lol) ...After an IBT run it's cooking at around 85 lol
I've not got any fancy cooling either, just a TRUE120 with push/pull Antec Tri-cools on medium speed
