Wanted to fit a Akasa Apache fan into the side fan holder on my antec 1200 case.
I am having problems closing the case though due to clearence issues around my Prolimatech Megahalems CPU Cooler.
Has anyone encountered this before or are there any fans that fit the side fan bracket so that you can close the case properly ?

Any help appreciated.

Most 120mm fans are 25mm thick, not heard of any that are thinner, but will keep my eyes peeled.

If you do find a thinner fan, It wont fit in the side bracket on the Antec.

I say just leave it without a fan, Antecs have great airflow so you probably wont need it.

as they already said, the thickness is about the same, so there is not much way to get it in other than change your cpu cooler
tbh, i thought the case has enough airflow?

You can get the Scythe Slip Stream 1200RPM 120mm Slim Case Fan that's only 12mm thick, although like others have said the Antec 1200 has pretty good stock cooling anyway.

You can mount the fan (with cellotape or something lol) outside the case so that it blows inside it. I did this once on a small old case i had, might not look very good but it works :D

Don't think I still have the pics, but to get a side fan in my 902 with a TRUE in the way, I just cut one corner of the fan off.

You planning on putting the fan as an intake or exhaust?

Plan on using it as an intake to blow air over the grapgics card.

Had a look earlier and the megahalem is only a few mms away from touching the side case as it stands now.Surely this is quite a common problem with fitting a side fan on the 1200 if you have a large CPU cooler installed ?

Unless it is a massive oversight by Antec.
