I have to say although my previous case was £60-70 this antec 300 is new levels of cool. I will post some pics but only when i get my new dvd drive (looks wierd right now).

My two cents:

  • I took the large 140mm top fan out as my mobo pertruded the area slightly.
  • Fitted yate loons 2x intake 1x exhaust. was easy to install unlike in some cases.
  • tried my best at cable management but the location of my mobo connections made it difficult. (next thing is to upgrade to sata :P)
  • After stripping my old case it felt so flimsey i could literally bend it with one hand. antec 300 is hard steel baby.
  • havent added the side 120mm fan as i have just not got round to it yet.
  • i need to get a fan controller now. didnt think these yate loons would be that loud. oh well - they push a hell of a lot of air.
  • Watch out for pics in the desk gallery/case gallery over the next day or so. and this page for inside shots
  • I now need to dampen my hd sound somehow.
  • I have added two cathodes on the the left side of the case, this gives a nice (not mega bright) effect on the fans.

must i say this is the best case by miles and beats the competition any day, and i think its even better than the antec 900 or any cases around £60-70.

all in all im glad with my purchase but there isnt a 3 1/2 adapter included. however it comes with plently of screws, and more importantly thumb screws. and although i like the idea of padlocking your case , it doesnt really have any use if someone did steal your pc. as it does not have a lock thing on the other door.

EDIT: oh and temps have gone down by 10c !

Sound like a nice build, intersted in this bit.

your mobo must stick up a bit further than usual, I seem to have a good few Centimeters clearance.

sounds great m8:-)

what rpm yate loons did you get? 2 arrived for me yesterday and i can hardly hear them :o

i dont know the rpm but i definatly need a fan controller just to turn them down a notch.

my mobo is a matx so i guess things differ slightly. well maybe it will fit but i went and took it out before i started. now its gonna be a bit difficult. because it was my first rebuild of my pc.

right now ive got to finish getting my dvd drive to work - damn jumper fell off

thats alirght then:) Im interested in what you did with your wires cos i found cable management a bit of a faff also. With much tinkering i managed to get it sorted by putting peripherals behind the mobo and in spare bay compartments. Would love a few pics of the insides if ya can mate.

*edit* your second lot of pics have loaded up now:p Least you have proper IDE cables ive got the bog standard ones and they are a pain in this case.

what fan is t hat on the cpu cooler?

its this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...1&name=Akasa AK-965 CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775)

would have gone for something better but was worried it wouldnt fit on mobo (matx  )

anyway its pretty much the same as the freezer pro in design. works fine, im running it at 50% fan speed and get temps no lower than 35 (thats with only a slight overclock).

oh but you guys dont want to see the fan cables/power converters hidden behind hdd cage . its a complete mess but its holding together fine.

love the little things that make this case great: installing fans in no longer tiresome, easy install of hard drives, dust cover for intake and its washable, the look of the case is great, plenty of room for fairly big gcards and coolers and so much more.

in fact ive just switched the left side panel (one with vent) with the right side panel (just plain) and it looks even better as i have it on the right side of my desk.
