Antec 300 stock fan problem

Maybe someone can help with this. I've got an Antec 300 case and a Zalman ZM-MFC1 Fan Controller and am having trouble connecting the included case fans to the controller. I have two other alaska fans that connect directly to the controller without the need for an adaptor and they are working fine.

The Antec fans though are powered by 4-pin molex. I tried connecting these to an adaptor and then to the controller but the fans don't start. Has anyone else had this issue? I must be doing something wrong but I can't figure it out.

Also, does it matter which way you connect a 4-pin molex to the adaptor as both are male & female.

Thanks!

do the stock 300 fans have a built in fan controller on them (like the 1200)? if they do, make sure that is set to the highest setting.

I have the rear 2 fans & the top fan in my 1200 hooked up to my fan controller & it works a treat. Much easier than having to reach round the back of the case

I think I'll do that. I already have 2x Akasa AK-191-BL Blue Ultra Quiet 120mm Fan - 3 Pin. They are very quiet even on max power.

Another problem though - is there a way of converting the 4 pin CPU cooler to a 3pin so I can connect the the controller? I can't seem to find a suitable adaptor on OCUK.

that one I can't answer, although I would have thought it best to leave the cpu plugged into the motherboard & let the bios control it

I got that 4>3 pin cable from ocuk for my antec 200mm fan, and i did finally manage to get it to work. Unfortnatly the rpm doesnt show on my fan controller and if i drop the rpm to much the fan stops and i almost have to jump start it by using the dial on the fan controller to get it going again.

Just sticking with the normal tri-speed control until i work out what to do. :o
