Hi,

I've got an Antec Kuhler 620 on the way and I was just wondering if it can handle powering two fans by plugging a y-splitter into the fan power lead, or would it be safer to plug the second fan into its own motherboard header?

Thanks,

James

As this is something I'm thinking about doing, do the fans slow down if the load is low? As the spare fan I have shifts a lot of air but high rpm is noisey.
Also the instructions don't mention about setting anything in the BIOS for the CPU fan but I read somewhere that it should be set at max as the pump runs from it? Did I dream this?

I have a Antec 620 with a push/pull setup using 2 viper fans. I have them setup to run at 600rpm when the PC is idle and they run at max when my temp hit 46C and slow down when my temps drop. I have the fans plugged in to the 2 CPU_FAN connectors on the motherboard, so no need for a splitter.

I have never used the stock fan as I had a spare viper when I bought my 620, but I am sure the stock fan was only a 3 pin fan so it would only run at one speed.

You can plug them in using a splitter and they will still be controlled via PWM. I currently use one of these for my push/pull config and the rest of fans on Fan controller :) Just make sure each fan is 4pin.
