Antec 620w PSU enough for 970sli?

I have an Antec 620w PSU and was looking at grabbing a 2nd 970 to sli. The rest of my system is 2500k @ stock 1HDD 1SSD and Asus STX sound card.

Any advice would be welcome, thanks

Unfortunately, that link is 404-compliant.

But 620W should be more than enough. Had Nvidia released 8 GB versions - or even 7 + 1 GB versions

- I would now be running two 970s off a 460W PSU - granted I use a 65W CPU.

Your link doesn't work but as it's 620w I presume it's a High Current Gamer 620w that you have? If so you have 576w on the 12v rail so you should have 120-150w of spare headroom.

100w minimum for your cpu, around 400w for sli 970's with no overclocks.

Yes, the psu will more than likely cope - but for how long?

Would I risk it - hell no

The PSU is an Antec and has the product code HCG-620 (not the M)

I think without the last bit on you need to load it up once first for it to work.

That one only has 3 pci-e cables so you can't do sli

My one has 2 x 6+2PCI-E, would it be ok to use an 8pin in each card and a molex to 6 pin connector in each? I know the 970 don't draw massive amounts of power and I'm thinking that I might be able to get away with it!

As the psu doesn't natively support it, I wouldn't risk it.
