Hi all, i have searched before anyone moans. Could not find a topic relevant to my subject.

I personally hate (strongly) the fan switches on the antec 900. I want to change the speeds on the fly preferably with a front fan controller.

Thing is that the fans are molex connected and have been told that a normal molex to 3 pin will not be able to change the speed.

So any ideas, am i wrong? Please help.

Well your going to need to mod your fans like mine if you want RPM read out, but if you don't need the read out just buy some 3pin connectors/pins kit and wire up your fans.

The 3rd wire is for the RPM monitoring, so what I did was buy some other Antec Tri cool led fans which had the 3pin connector but these fans came with clear blades. Being so I wanted to the black blades which came with the 900, I swapped them into the new fans I brought.

was it easy to do or was it a bit touch and go. cos it looks like im gonna do it. btw. could i just change the electrics bit over in the fans. or is that not possible?

If I remember right I don't think there was a solder point for the third wire on the 900 fans but you can check. If you go the exchange route all you have to do is peal back the sticker behind the motor and carefully prise out the plastic retaining washer and then you can effortlessly pull the fan out which is mounted on its spindle. O you can just use some other fans instead if you don't fancy doing that.
