Hi all
I've got an Antec 900 case, which i previously bought from OCUK and am wanting to replace the stock fans it came with.
Problem is the bottom front fan doesn't seem to work anymore, i've fiddle with the connection etc but it doesn't wanna spin, so i guess i need some new ones and the other front fan isn't performing too well, think it's dying too.

The back exhaust fan which is the same performs great, maybe i'm just noticing it more now the front pair are wearing out. Also wanting to get another 120mm fan for on the side of case, parallel to my hd4870 card which could do with some extra cooling.

Any ideas on what're the best 120mm fans to use? I'm online a lot during the night so don't want them too noisey, not sure what these stock fans produce in DB but anything around that or slightly higher is fine (i run them on max btw).
Price isn't too much of an issue either and LED's doesn't bother me much, pref in black though to match case or similar.
Heard a lot of people recommending Noctua & Delta? Any ideas? Am also considering just replacing them with the same type which is these (i think) Antec Tricool(s)

Cheers lads :)

Edit: Changed link due to request, i think this one is the same though the one i had originally linked stated:
# Rotation Speed: 1200/1600/2000 rpm
# Air Flow: 39/56/79 cfm
# Noise Level: 30 dBA

Antec site states:
# Fan Speed 1,600 RPM (avg.)
# Volumetric Airflow 56 CFM
# Acoustic Noise 28 dBA (at average rpm)

Guess they mean on medium settings.

Noctua's are very quiet, but pricey, deltas i wouldnt bother with,if your gaming at night! They are VERY loud.
Silent Eagles are popular:

or Red Wings

Red Wing -
- Flow Rate: 68CFM
- 1400RPM
- Noise level: 21.2 dBA

Silent Eagles -
- Rated speed: 1000 RPM
- Sound: 19.0 dB(A)
- Air flow: 36.8 CFM

Not too clued up on fans though CFM = higher the better, right?
I think the Antec Tricools i linked are pretty much the same as i have though mine are in solid black, the dBA is fine and @ max CFM apparently is 79 though mine not working to potential anymore i don't want to miss out on that extra cooling so Red Wing is closest comparison so far.
Also the Tricools come with a fan control switch, do the Red Wing fans have this too?
Thanks for suggestion mate.

Yeah not too tricky, the only problem i found was the fans i used to replace in the front where a little thicker in the chassis than the tri-cools so the screws where just a little bit short to fix them in place. :(
I resorted to using that scotch mounting tape cut into triangles at each corner to fix em in place! Trust me they are really secure! If youve done the window mod you will know the strength of that Scotch tape. ;)

You run the stock fans at max and that doesnt bother you? They are quite loud!
Really? :( i'm probably going deaf in my old age lol.

sorry to jump in here but are changing the fans on the antec 1200 easy?
Never replaced them in my Antec 900 case but have taken them completely out for cleaning purposes, doesn't seem like it'd be too tricky if you can find the right width.

Scotch tape? lol  now you've got me worried i'm going to have to DIY the fans into place!

Basically my main concern over replacing these fans and not just getting another set of Tricools is i'm worried about losing the airflow i get at the moment. That's why the fans advised thus far i'm undecided about as they are lower CFM, the noise reduction is nice, though i don't want to sacrifice on cooling, know what i mean?
Are there any 120mm fans that'd fit in the Antec 900 case well that beat the Tricools on CFM with less or similar dBA?
AFAIK the standard 120 x 120 x 25.4 mm should fit properly.
Thanks all for replys so far :D

Last bump!
I need to choose by today guys so i can order them in, does anyone have any recommendations that are better than the Tricools? CFM/dBA ration-wise, aslong as it's the same or more CFM with less dBA that'd be great, thanks!

Follow up- Went with my original choice, fits beautifully. Was a lil worried about clearance on my hd4870 but there's plenty of room :D
Still don't see the worry about noise, these are pretty damn quiet even on high!
