antec 900 top fan issue

Hi ppl, i know this case is new but hopefully the fix is old for this problem..

I'm using a DS3 mobo and an Antec TruePower Trio 430w PSU

the issue i have is that the top fan won't spin up fully. it is plugged into the "fan only" power cable from the PSU (and won't fit in any other). It's getting pulses of power, but insufficient to push it into action.

I believe that the PSU monitors temps and adjusts fan speed accordingly; is there a way to disable this?

Any fixes/comments/suggestions?

any advice appreciated; google's turning up a blank

cheers

yeah it does -- 3-way speed setting "h/m/l"

obviously it's set to high but still no go. i get the feeling that were it a 120mm it would be spinning away quite happily.

bit of an oversight on Antec's part eh? they implicitly recommend their TruePower series with the 900 case.

you think it's a lost cause then?

Plug it into a normal molex connection.

yep. thanks that's done it. I did try to do that at first but couldn't get the connector to fit. thought it was by design but actually it was just a dodgy molex i was trying to plug it into -- one of the female pins wiggled with the wire in the back.

s'all good now. nice (but unnecessary!) drop in temps too..

thanks again
