im about to order my new system some time this week all being well come payday and its all came down to which case too go for. the p182 looks tidy inside but i prefair the looks of the 900 on the outside. both are important and so i guess it rly comes down to taste in the end. which would u go for and why?

id go for the p182. but if you are considering the 900, then might as well get the 300 rather the 900 as in my opinion it is much better.

P182, as i have one and it is really quiet, sat next to me at the minute on my desk and cant hear it that much

P182 nice and quiet on the medium/low fan settings.
Decent space.
Well designed.
For me a nice looking case.

And personally the P182 would stand the test of time a bit longer.

Also yeah 900<300<P182

the p182 looks better on the outside (my opinion) but the 900 has a lot better airflow for cooling your components. if you like the look of the 900 outside over the p182 then i'd go for the 900 =)

I think that the P182 has a very good design on the inside to help cooling, such as having 4 hard drives mounted in a seperate section at the bottom, and almost sealed off with the PSU. This significantly reduces system temperature I found, and you can always add a scythe kama bay for additional cooling if you need to. Some pics to help guide you to the superior P182 ;):

TY. Will hopefully make it even tidier once I replace my 500GB RAID 1 with some 1.5TB drives so I can remove the old 300GB in the upper bay!

I was also going to add to my other post that the P182 has dust filters which are easilly accessible by pressing the small "doors" infront of the fans, and if your not a dust freak you can just remove them to help air flow :)

What about the antec 1200? is about £15 more than the p182 but its much nicer than the 900. Is black inside for a nice tidy look too :)

you cannot go wrong with the p182, i upgraded to this thing from a £30 crappy white BOX!!!

this thing is huge and so sexy in my modern sitting room ^_^

My freezer 7 doesn't make any noise at all, I think I can just hear my 8800GT or my case fans. The P5K-E wifi has a b0rked CPU Q-fan setting I think, it limits it to 800ish RPM on all the settings (silent, optimal and performance), doesn't change RPM whatever its set to.

However when I first got my PC the CPU Q-fan was set to disabled and it was VERY loud.

do you run your case fans on max?

All the case fans have been swapped out for Akasa Ambers and they hardly make any noise, i have a zalman cooler on my 8800gt thats limited to 1500rpm by a fan mate and thats silent.....so that just leaves the freezer.

Its not a problem really, i had just wondered what someone else was getting i would like it to be a little quieter i guess, i'll just pick up a fan controller and run them all through that

I hate fan controllers, they just add wires to your system and the one that connects to the CPU looks messy (if you want to see its RPM still that is). You could use one of those resistors you get with many case fans (like noctua) that reduce the volts to 7 or perhaps 5. My freezer runs around 800RPM constant and my CPU temp never goes above 55c which is good enough for me.

thx for the input, im still undecided but il have another look over them 2nite. who'd think the hardest bit of choosing pc parts would be the case hehe

I bought the Antec 900, I liked the the look of it and it should fit all my stuff, haven't had it running yet, so am yet to see how the airflow is and what it sounds like.
