Hi all, I'm having some trouble getting the 200mm top fan on my antec 902 case to work.

It's connected to it's own molex cable from PSU, LEDs light up and if I blow on it to start it off then it keeps on going!

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions about how to get it going properly from start up?

Bit of a noob so any advice appreciated.

is it pluged into the molex or 3 pin adapter?
If the molex, make sure when you plug it in, that all the connectors are in, usualy the male conectors are loose, so, push the wires in and the adapter in at the same time to make sure none push themselves out of the plastic bit.

as above
and look for anything
that could be blocking the fan itself
usually a power issue
get back to us and let us know what you did to get it to work
and if it hasnt worked still

If ngb52 has to blow on it to get it started I doubt if there's much of a restriction. Definitely sounds like a power issue and that the fan isn't getting enough to get started.

Thanks for the advice.

It is a molex connector, not a 3 pin. There is a cable coming from the PSU with four molex connectors, and the fan is the only one in use.

The LEDs always seem to work, but the fan itself doesn't always start spinning on startup. If it is just a lack of power, then any ideas how to increase it, given that its the only connection on the chain to the PSU?

Cheers

How long have you had the fan connected? I'm thinking it might be faulty seeing as it should be spinning at full speed on 12v. Is the bigboy a tricool switched type fan or just single speed fan?

i was thinking it could be that it may only come on when it is needed, like when it is warm, but just realised it is connected to the molex :(

seems the fan is faulty
