Well i just got my new rig. is the huge fan on the top supposed to work ? or is it there for show, because it aint working on mine. i was expecting it to take off when i turned it on but nothing :o

nope the little switches on the back dont change it, it changes the back ones and the lights, but not the big one :( wonder if they forgot to connect it, im scared of touching it ahaha

its a shame even on the case instructions it doesnt say anything about the fans

jeeze, is the big fan going to effect it much ?, and nah im not touching it if i touch it im sure they wouldnt accept it back if something happend while i as fiddling, and 1300 is a mountain for me, best system ive ever bought by a long shot.

ok cheers, another question, on the system information in control panel, where it says the processor speed, if it has been overclocked, should it come up with the overclocked speed on there ?

Take off the side panel (non windowed side) ... you are looking for a molex connector (black in colour with red and lack cables) ... is the rear fan working (120mm) ? If so you may find that the builder hasnt connected the rear and top fan molex together to power both ... easy to do mate :)

yep everything else is working, just the top fan

edit: before i made myself look a fool

i see a small black one that is just hanging down, its not very long though, i dont think it would fit

yep they are connected, theres a molex coming from the back fan, and a molex from the big fan on the top, they are both connected to each other with 2 molex, then coming out of the bottom are 2 small black ones which i suspect go onto the mobo, 1 of them is on the mobo the other is just hanging down not connected to anything

Edit, make that 1 small one. but the molex is still connected

Double check nothing is obstructing the fan blade from turning ie. wires cable ties etc. Have you a molex connector on your PSU cables ? Could you connect it even for testing ?

Or disconnect the single wire connected to the motherboard and swap it with the one 'hanging down' ... see if the big boy fan starts and rear fan stops

yep it was a cable stuck in the fan :) sorted, it did do this wierd black screen when i started it up after it though, i got onto the desktop and the screen just went black, it didnt lose signal, or anything, it just went black, restarted now though and all going well, thanks for your helps :)
