Antec 902 Custom fans/LEDs

Hi was just wondering if its even possible to take out or even replace the antec Big Boy 200mm fan at the top of the 902. I was thinking of replacing it with this:

For both noise and aesthetic reasons.
Also the rest of the 120mm fans in the case would be replaced.

Or, how easy would it be just to replace the LEDs on all of the fans?

Wow! That 16 LED mod is unreal!
Only thing is though, ill be going back to uni soon and changing the LEDs in all 8 fans in my case, or 32 LEDs is gonna take some time :/
Although it really does look like a very cheap option. Where did you buy all your LEDs/resistors, online?
 
Just see if you can actually get the Big Boy out first! (before you contemplate buying that rather nice replacement) I tried a similiar thing on my Antec 1200. Ten screws later I still could not get it out! ...lol The last 2 screws were under a folded metal strip!!! I went off and sulked for 2 hours :( lol
 
Yes everything purchased online from the no.1 Auction site. There's also phenoptix.

Switching out just 4 LEDs per fan should only take a few minutes. All you are doing is prising out, cutting, soldering, popping back in. Took me a bit longer because I cut the LED legs too long and because I was taking pictures. I could do one now in 10 minutes flat. The 16 LED mod takes quite a bit longer. ;)

Lol i bet! I was pretty sure about replacing all the fans before, but the cost of a soldering iron and some LEDs really doesnt sound too bad at all! :)

Did you do the 16 LED mod on ALL the fans in your case? If so, pics? :p
 
I did the front two. One with 12 and one with 16. I haven't done any more so far as I intend switching out all my fans for decent ones but haven't got round to it yet.

I just can't make my mind up about which fans to install.

I'm also concerned that I will grow weary of orange and wish to change the colour, which would be tricky if I go modding my expensive Noctua Heatsink Fans.

Maybe I need to learn about RGB LEDs :/
