Antec 902 Fan Issues

I recently built an i7 system. I have a GA EX58-UD3R motherboard. My problem is the top 200mm exhaust fan on my Antec 902 case does not run at startup. It seems like it is not getting enough power to run. Only when I keep adjusting the speed control setting on the rear of the case does it eventually work. It runs no problem on the medium and max speed setting, but when I put it to low setting it sometimes just stops.

I have the antec 300, dont know if it uses the same case fans...

But i found it easier to just plug them into a standard 4 pin instead of the motherboard.

Then use the switch to change speeds.
