Antec 902 Front USB - not enough power?

Hi guys,

I've recently purchased an Antec 902 and its awesome :-) Couldn't be happier. However, I've recently noticed that I'm unable to run my WD Passport from the front connected USB header. It works fine on the rear ports, but when connected to the front USB it fails to initialise properly (meaning that there is some power but not enough to get it going properly).

My thoughts are that either a) my mobo isn't providing the necessary output power for the USB header I've connected the front ports to or b) the cabling between the header and the front ports (which is supplied as part of the case) is substandard.

Has anyone else seen this kind of problem and can anyone suggest a way forward? I really want to use the front ports as getting to the rear is a pain in the ass!! :-)

Cheers
Matt

Have you tried it on a different header? Maybe give that a go to be sure.

It seems that Antec aren't big on their front ports... I've been having trouble with the front headphone port on mine; which seems to be very common.

I know this isnt helpful but my Passport works on the front port of my 902, so I think you've got quite unlucky!
