Hi guys justa quick question. Ive currently got my corsair 650w upside down in my antec 902 case so the fan faces upwards. Will it make a massive difference to have it positioned with the fan facing down? Its purely for cable management issues as i assume its an intake fan.

Cheers.

lol. my 750w just fried last night, i had it mounted upside down in the 902 because of the 12v connector not able to reach, but it got hot and made a lot of noise, ran it for a year like this then got a extension cable instead and put it with the fan facing up almost silent like that ;)

I wish they would design these things so they could face down, every time i take a screw out to remove/install an expansion card im scared it will fall into the PSU and blow the thing up. They still hold quite a charge even when switched off i gather.

Just cover the intake grill with a piece of cardboard to prevent anything dropping inside. Just remember to remove it before starting the PC up again :)

+1 on DirtyJesters suggestion or just lie the case down on it's side when working on it! :)

I have the Antec 1200 case and have the same thing though I have mine with the fan facing up, it would be really nice if Antec could make the case have feet on the bottom with a hold cut out for the fan to stick through to so speak so as the PSU could be fitted the right way up.

Other than this one small "blip" I love my case it's freakin' huge!

well you can fix the psu with fan facing down. AT least in the 1200 that I know of. I have lifted the psu to the top position in the PSU bay. That way I have more clearance for ventilation.
