Hi all.

So I'm creating a cool small mod in the new Antec P8 case.

Tonight I have stripped the case down and removed the fans, cables and front panel.
I ordered some Fuchsia coloured acrllic, a 60x 60cm piece and a 45 x 50cm piece.

I have started to cut the first panel to size.

I'm using a Rzyen 5 1600X CPU kindly donated by OcUK. Not 100% sure on the motherboard yet, by it will be a Gigabyte Gaming 3 or a similiar spec'd Asus ATX board.
I have a GTX980ti with a EK block for it once I'm at that stage.

Im giving you a sneaky peak at it for now. :)

I have received a number of parts for the build now.

An AMD Ryzen 1600X kindly donated by OcUK/AMD. Thanks to Gibbo.
An ASUS X370-F STRYX Gaming motherboard. Thanks to Asus
A GTX 980ti which I have had for a while.
Samsung EVO 850 250GB SSD

And a number of Alphacool parts, kindly donated by Aquatuning/Alphacool.

MSI GTX980ti

The tubing is frosted, because I have got the fittings that alphacool do that are LED, and I figured the light would look better with frosted

frosting is nice, have a ton and managed to do a bend, loses the frosting effect a little but i think i over heated it.
If you want to keep the backplate, you'll need 4x of the smaller m3 bolts. think its 8mm length . should be able to bolt this down to the block and pulls it tight to the PCB - might need washer though . Only problem is Stock backplates pale compared to the heat transfer of the alphacool ones :D

Just blocked up the GPU. Used the backplate with the GPU block. It looks smart and will help with cooling, has heat pads 2.5mm thick for the rear of the card for the backplate.

Be interesting to see how the card performs with this block, only ever used EK blocks before.

Forgot to mention, it's worth taking apart the GPU block from the Heatsink to check thermal paste contact . And also to use better rated paste as VRM heat should transfer to the copper block .
