Maybe one of you kind folks could help me. I have the case in the thread title...

and fitted inside it is an Asus P5E-VM hdmi mainboard. Thing is, I can't seem to plug both the power button connector for the case and the remote control/LCD connector into the mainboard at once. I can only have one plugged in and the other out as there are not extra connectors on the mainboard.

Am I missing something blatantly obvious or do I have to make a choice between the two?

The LCD runs off a USB header... it needs to be plugged into the USB socket on the motherboard, not the section where you plug the "on" switch into...

Right, seems like yours came like mine did. Basically one of the 2pin pwr plugs needs to connect to the back of the lcd (this connection is in the far right hand corner of the lcd, take the cd tray out and you will be able to see it) Or remove the front panel (3screws at the top). Best way to find out which one is to take off the front panel, then the cable from the pwr button goes to the lcd and the lcd pwr cable goes to the motherboard.

There should be a bit of paper supplied with the case to show this. Pretty sure the the power button cable is blue/black and the lcd power cable is red/black. So red/black goes to the motherboard.

I bloody well suspected it might have been that! I tried connecting it to the usb header on the mainboard as the manual suggested but nothing happened.

'Surely not those two little innocuous connector pins tucked away in the upper right hand corner' I thought to myself though....

Apparently not it would seem.

Thanks mate.

Threadjack I've afraid, but md99 did you get your LCD working with the P5e-VM? I've one reservation about buying, in that the power LED is output from the mobo is flashing when sleeping, not completely off, so what does the LCD display do? I'm praying it doesn't flash?!
