I'll keep this short and sweet...

• Do both the black and silver have the VFD display instead of the LCD display now. It seems in some photos the silver case has the better VFD display?
  
• I wont be running it with MCE or any other HTPC media managers, only Windows XP SP2/SP3. What exactly will the VFD display? Will it readout from Winamp and Media Player Classic as those are my main players.

Not sure on the first question. My Antec Fusion Silver has a VFD screen.

If you download the Soundgraph Imon software the VFD screen will show the date and time and will also show these.

Remote Control Message - What button youy pressed on the remote
System Information - CPU Speed/Type, amount of RAM used etc
Media Information - What Song/TV program your watching
E-mail check - It will show on the screen if you have a new message.
Daily News - Will show RSS Feeds
City Information - Weather
Graphic Equalizer

It only works with Winamp, Media Centre, Itunes and Imedian HD. Theres no support for WMP classic.
