Hey all.

I have this and ill be installing it probably mid next week. What would the experts here say to the right way to install it i.e tubes go up down left right round the bend what?

Cheers. :)

I wonder why some people say they get better temps with the tubes on top going down? They also mentioned air bubbles which it helps fix or avoid or somit. I duno much about that since im new to water cooling stuff.

Air bubbles should get trapped in the top of the rad, I'm not going to go into why people fit them the other way around etc, all im going to say is see how Asetekinc (who make them and the others) fit them in youtube install guide videos.

Thats where some of them do that i.e tubes on top of rad not the bottom lol. Ill have another look at the install vids on utube tho.

Edit - Hmm in this vid they use the fan on the other side of the radiator. I thought that the fan goes on the back of the case then the radiator attached to the fan.

Edit 2 - Also im watching a vid at pax 2011 with asetek having the tubes top side.

Another vid

See this is why im a bit confused, what are your thoughts as to why they might do it and asetek do it too?

The fan positioning is easily explained.

The fan is on the rear most of the case as its drawing air in from the back and pushing inwards over the rad, this air is then sucked up and out of the case via the roof.

The way I have done it (and other people) is to have the fan blowing air from inside the case, over the rad and out the back.

You could always try it in both potions yourself? or just fit it how it looks best for you and actually use the PC for its intended uses rather than worrying about a few Celsius difference here and there.

Had a look in the box and its very different fitting system compared to youtube vids of the 620. There are no colour brackets, the manual looks very different, it has small screws like 10mm long and i have no idea what there for, they look like psu screws kinda and they are not in the manual, the same for this ring thing which doesn't fit anywhere and isnt in the manual either.

I think i know how to fit it all tho but this ring thing i hope its not vital to the install lol or them 4 tiny black screws. Also yeah i looked at amd and intel installs instructions and they arnt mentioned or illustrated either in any of the steps.

No ill be installing the cooler on the new gear the motherboard you recommended with a 3570k.

I think they redone the whole mounting system as on the box its got the lga 2011 compatible sticker, the ones on youtube do not. So i guess i have a new revision of it. Might show some pics of the parts tomorrow i cba as its too late at night now.

Maybe the 4 small screws and that spare ring thing is for the lga 2011 socket?

Edit -

Hmm ah thats what the ring is for, i thought it went there at one time when messing about trying the mounting stuff to work it out before i did the upgrade later but it was very tricky to put on and i couldnt get it on like the guy in the vid did tho since i know it goes there (duno if if i do it for 1155 socket as the vid i think is for 2011) i might try when the time comes to do that.

Oh and just read that the 4 small screws are for attaching the rad to the back of the case which before i thought you just needed the 4 long ones cos you do the fan then the rad. Really awkward that i have to scour the net for this info when it should be in the instruction booklet grr.

Well I will wait for the pics, but if its like the 920, you want the rear mounting bracket with two bits of foam to face the rear PCB.

Place the four metal threaded thingys in the correct hole in each corner of it.

Get the ring with the four equal spreaded tabs in each corner, use the Blue plastic things and insert them (the right way around)

Screw four of the right Black screws in to these and into the rear mounting plate until the ring is loss and floppy (i.e the screws start to bite, then go lose, then start biting the thread again)

Fit the pump head into the ring and give a slight turn so the tabs around the ring lock into the pump head and tighten each screw down.

This is the socket 2011 kit - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=21204378&postcount=6

That link is the new bracket i was talking about.

This is what comes nowadays in the 620 box, no more blue or green bits, its all black.

Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm 1850RPM

Would one of these be useful in a push and pull setup with this cooling system to go along with the stock antec fan u get with the 620?

Edit: nvm i shouldnt really spend more money as already over budget for upgrade already.
