Hey

Been looking all over the internet for threads of the Antec Khuler 620 and a rattling noise. I've just noticed mind, only had a couple of days, the rattle is very noticable. What should I do?

Hi Seb, did you manage to reduce/eliminate the rattling sound on your 620?

I ask because I have just built an i5 2500K system for a friend and the 620 I installed is making a rattling/ticking noise too. It is definitely from the pump and I can hear it over the fans of the Corsair 600T case it is in. I tried the tips in the link Sunrider posted to prevent air pockets/bubbles but this noise is very different from bubbling noise created when you disturb the radiator level.

My friend hasn't seen or heard the system yet but I find it very annoying, so I hope he isn't too disaapointed until I can resolve this issue :(

You can't connect the power cable to a fan header that's using any kind of fan control either put it on a different header or disable the speed control in the bios it's probably making that noise because the pump is getting under-volted :)

usually i hear the rattling noise from my 620 when i move / lift the case. this is why I let it settle down for a while before i turn it on after a tinker session. not sure if its the same case to you

Thanks for the replies guys. It did have plenty of time to settle due to at least a four hour gap between fitting it and powering it up to test.

I did wonder if it is a voltage issue. There is only one part that I can find in the MSI Z68 GD65 BIOS thats deals with temperature control and that is turned off. I will try swapping it to a different case fan socket later and see if that helps :)

if the pump cable is plugged into one of the motherboard fan headers try and install fan control software to see what speed it's going.Best bet is speedfan.
pump rpms should be somewhere around 1450. I've read that the pump might make noise if it is going to slow. My 620 has been quite from the start and I move my pc all the time and the rpms are at full speed of about 1450.

Funny you should suggest that Sunrider, I installed Speedfan when my friend called in to collect his new system. I did a quick check and that is the speed it reported but at the time I didn't know what it should be.

He is going to run it for a few days or so and see how it turns out. I did run IBT on very high and it passed every time. Hottest core was 65c at 4.49Ghz and 1.325v core. I will try reducing the voltage and see how low I can get it at that speed, when I get the chance.
