Hi all, I recently purchased an antec kuhler 920 and fitted it this afternoon. I had previously read that the CPU fan control in the bios will prevent the pc from booting. I'm now having this problem where it will not let me get into windows because it encountered a problem with the CPU fan. I need to know how to turn this control off or something. Motherboards a gigabyte z68ap d3.
Please can somebody help me.
Thanks in advance

thank for your reply. I have plugged the pump into SYS_FAN 2 on the motherboard and now there is nothing connected to the CPU fan header and it has successfully got into windows:) Unfortunately the software provided with the cooler doesn't seem to work properly because it doesn't tell me the fan speed or the sound level.
Any ideas what i should do?
Thanks

I have connected the pump to a 4 pin fan header and the USB is connected to the top layer of pins in the header itself. How do i enable the fan monitoring in the bios?
Thanks

So just to confirm the USB cable that comes from the Antec 920 is connected to a USB header on the motherboard?

Also, somewhere in the bios will be a section to monitor temperatures, you can normally select which to monitor and which to not etc.. I'm not on a pc so can't check your setup, it should be in the motherboard manual :)

I have tried bothe slots on the motherboard for the USB header but it is still not working properly on the chill control software. I think it might be something to do with the compatiblity of the software and windows 7. The software is just not showing up correctly compared to other people using this software.
Thanks :)

Yes both fans are now spinning. I am now seeing the sound level and both fan speeds but the software is still not showing up correctly.
Thanks :)

The USB header from the Antec is only half size but I've got it on the bottom row of pins as it has a missing pin, try that one, if still not working, rotate the connector but still on the bottom pins

So to recap, I've got a wire from the cooler which my 2 fans connect to (split header), then a wire to the cpu fan header, then the USB to the USB header, also, do you change the wires whilst the pc is off, then start up for each change?

okay i have the pump going to the PWR_FAN header, the two fans connect to the splitter coming off the pump itself and the USB is plugged into the top row of pins of the USB header. I change the wires when the PC is off and then switch it back on again. Does it matter if i change them with it on or off?
Thanks.

USB needs to be on the bottom pins, there is a missing pin, link this with the missing pin on the connector, and yes always switch off pc before changing plugs etc...
