Antec Mini P180 *Rebuild*

hahaha, i actually saw your video before i knew you were here! then i found it here and just laughed out loud.

HOLY SHIZZLES! check that watercooling! daaaamn thats a tight fit!!
look at the reservoir. its a tiny slight angle!!

and is that TISSUE i see?!?!

ok..you know what...i think im gonna give watercooling a miss!! and here i was dreaming of cooling the NB and SB too!!!! MADNESS!!!

;) looks like he went back to air cooling after that...though i dont see why you couldnt mount a rad on the bottom front 120mm fan, and have a rad at the rear 120mm fan. Or maybe even put it next to the psu in the bottom chamber. :o

Think i will stick with air cooling for now

I had planned to do something like this with a plexi bracket...

It'll allow the top rad to be mounted to the read fan mount and also to the top fan, probably needed as a heater core isn't lightweight...

I'll take some pics tomorrow.. still mods in progress at the moment.

in my opinion the top panel looks much better in person, as it is nice and flush with the case ;)

yeah me too. i think the flash is just really harsh. the little gaps on top and underneath the panel. i really hope thy're really dark.

hey conan257. what's the panel connected to? what are you using it for? and what on EARTH is that optical drive!!!!!!!!!!!

Panel is connected to my 4870's 2nd output, use it for winamp details and everest etc...

optical is 2 laptop tray loader dvd writers... one of my best purchases... 2 sata drives in one bay :)

Hopefully i'll have pics of my windowed door up tomorrow...

what would i have to look up if i wanted on of those...quite like the look of it.

as for the panel. cant wait to see more work on it. looks like a fantastic idea. as opposed to always cheeking up on temps and media on screen..just quick glance at display.

Dont think I can link to any of the places I got stuff from... Got the 2 drives off ebay at 10quid a piece, but the bay thing costs around 15quid from several retailers around...

Then you need a special adaptor as laptop sata is different to desktop sata...

Still running a few problems with the screen, refresh rate related... Gotta find space to fit the controller board too (between 2 hdd's in the upper rack, had to cut the fangrill out)... But it is pretty sweet...

Sounds good guys, but at the moment i am trying to work out why antec added the 6 vents/holes on the front door of the case. I much prefer the standard antec p182 look, where its just a plain door. Antecs answer is that the mini p180 cannot get as much ventilation through the vents on the side of the door because it is smaller in height when compared with the p182. But it still puzzles me a little.

Also the power led is a bit of a bright white beacon, would you guys bother having it plugged in? I have the hdd light plugged in because its not so "in your face" as it is covered by the door.

No comment about the small vents.. Personally I prefer the look over the 182...

The light is a bit of a beacon... But mines under a desk so I dont really notice.

your lights is powerful? the one I've got is rather weak. I'd much rather have a strong one.

as for the vents...i like them now..i never saw the point. especially for the vent below the door!! but it fits somehow. I think I'm sticking to air cooling. water is too much for the kit i want and too cramped!

what i also like is there is plenty of room behind the door for fan controllers. I must have nearly 1.5 inches of room at the moment between the dials on my kaze master and the door.

thank god! i was contemplating getting something else because of the protruding dials!! but now im gonna get the good looking thang!

I love the case but i suppose with just every case you have to wonder if the kit you want fits in the case. I'm trying hard to find a suitable CPU cooler but I'm lost so far. thinking about the Thermalright 120 extreme black but i have NO idea if its going to fit!!

I like these but after running a few figures, I actually don't think it's much shorter than the regular P180, also it's much bigger as far as volume is concerned?

Kinda defeats the point of "SFF" - it must be almost big enough to get a full ATX board in.

You could get an ATX motherboard in with some modding... I find it awesome for going to my weekly LAN...

TRUE's fit fine.. I've a TRUE black with push pull, it works in both configs... You'll be hard pressed to get better air cooling...

Think it looks great just the factor of only being able to take matx boards. The p183 seems to keep the p180 mini design for the front door with the 6 vents for better airflow at a trade off for noise, so you better get used to the design xD
